MWB Neil Ernest Neddermeyer
first became involved in the Masonic family in 1959 when we became a DeMolay. He
was the Master Councilor of Tri-Tonka DeMolay chapter in 1964. In 1967 he joined
Wayzata Masonic Lodge #205 where his Father, Grandfather and his two Uncles had
joined before him.
He was Master of his lodge in 1980, 1981 and 1993. In 1975 He joined the
Scottish Rite and the Shrine. He was the Commander of the Knights Kadosh at the
Minneapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite from 1990-1992. In 1993 he was appointed
Chaplin of Zuhrah Shrine. In 1993 Neil received the honor of being coroneted
33rd Degree Honorary of the Scottish Rite. In 1994 he was appointed to the Grand
Lodge line and in 1997 he took his York Rite degrees.
He is a member of the Royal Order of Scotland, the Red Cross of Constantine and
the Order of Eastern Star. Neil is a former Drum Major of the Zuhrah Shrine Drum
and Bugle Corps and is currently the president of the Zuhrah Shrine
Troublemakers. Neil was installed as the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of
Minnesota on April 5th 2003 at its 150th annual communication.
MWB Neil is a retired detective from the Hennepin County Sheriff's department
and is currently the president of the Minnesota News Council. Neil lives in
Maple Grove MN with his wife Julie. His daughter Nikki will be attending
Concordia College in Morehead MN in the fall.
